EAA AirVenture Museum will be having a Free Event at 6:30pm. EAAs own Chris Henry talks about the harrowing Apollo 13 mission and the highlights of having the Apollo 13 crew at Oshkosh last summer to commemorate the 45th anniversary of their flight.

Space Week - An Evening with an Astronaut

EAA AirVenture Museum starting at 6:30pm will be Charlie Precourt, who flew on four Space Shuttle missions and commanded two of them, will talk about his space experiences and what’s ahead for man’s exploration of space. Following his presentation, join members of the Northeast Wisconsin Stargazers to see the wonders of the night sky through professional telescopes set up on the Pioneer Airport runway. ($2 admission)

EAA AirVenture Museum hosting a special outdoor showing of “October Sky,” at 6pm of the 1999 movie that chronicled the youth of Homer Hickam, the West Virginia boy who grew up to become one of NASA’s top rocket engineers. ($2 admission).

At the EAA AirVenture Pioneer Airport will be the closing weekend: The popular aerodrome behind the EAA museum will have its final two flying days of the 2015 season. Displays are included with museum admission, with flights at an extra charge. Young Eagles flights for museum visitors ages 8-17 are available at no cost.

EAA AIrVenture Museum - The Skyscape Theater Royale series presents “Apollo 13,” at 6:30pm the 1995 movie starring Tom Hanks, Gary Sinise, and Kevin Bacon. The film recounts the true story of the flight and rescue of the Apollo 13 mission in 1970. (free admission)
