AIR FORCE ONE’S 9/11 PILOT, SEPTEMBER SWING DANCE AND MORE AT EAA AVIATION MUSEUM IN SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER

EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wisconsin — (August 26, 2019) — With summer winding down, the EAA Aviation Museum is ramping up for fall and preparing for an array of exciting events.

Thursday, September 5, 6:30 p.m. – Movie: “Flight of the Intruder”
Starring Danny Glover, Willem Defoe, and Brad Johnson, this 1991 film follows a U.S. Navy A-6 bomber pilot as he plots an unauthorized strike on Hanoi in war-torn Vietnam. Our special guest is Jim Severud, who flew in the Intruder squadron depicted in this film. The showing is free for EAA members and $5 for non-members.

Wednesday, September 11, 7 p.m. – EAA Remembers 9/11
Join us in the Founders’ Wing to hear the incredible story of Col. Mark Tillman as he recalls his experience inside the cockpit of Air Force One with President George W. Bush on 9/11. Free for all first responders and EAA members, and $5 for non-members.

Friday, September 20, 6 p.m. – Presentation/Book Signing
Col. Chris Stricklin, USAF, the author of “Survivor’s Obligation: Navigating an Intentional Life”. Listen to Chris’s survival story after having to eject from an F-16 he was piloting during a Thunderbird air show in 2003 and how it changed how he lives his life today. Event is free for all attendees.

Saturday, September 28, 7-11 p.m. – September Swing Hangar Dance
The September Swing Hangar Dance will transform the EAA Aviation Museum’s Eagle Hangar into aviation’s most unique WWII era dance floor. Tickets available athttps://www.eaa.org/eaa-museum/eaa-museum-events/september-swing

Thursday, October 3, 6:30 p.m. – Movie: “Air America”
Starring Robert Downey Jr. and Mel Gibson. The 1990 film depicts a young pilot who finds himself in a covert and corrupt C.I.A. airlift organization operation in Laos during the Vietnam War era. Introduced by former Air America pilot, Neil Hansen. Showing is free for EAA members and $5 for non-members.

Saturday, October 12, 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. – Space Day
Kids and adults alike can explore their inner astronaut during World Space Week 2019 with a series of out-of-this-world activities, interactive exhibits, and special events. 

Thursday, October 17, 7 p.m. – Stealth Fighter Pilots round table discussion
A group of veteran F-117 Nighthawk fighter pilots talk about their experiences flying the renowned “Stealth” fighter. This event is free for EAA members and $5 for non-members.
