LAKELAND, FLA. – After initially postponing Sun ’n Fun Aerospace Expo due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Sun ’n Fun President & CEO John Leenhouts announced April 1, 2020, that the event originally scheduled for March 31 – April 5, is now officially canceled for this year.

The annual fly-in is the main fundraiser for the Aerospace Center for Excellence, an academy based on the Sun ‘n Fun campus on Lakeland Linder International Airport (KLAL) in Lakeland, Florida. The show provides over $2 million for STEM education programs each year, flight training, aerospace-related college scholarships, and hands-on learning facilities.

“Regardless of the financial impact, for the safety of all, we will move our 46th annual event to join with the 47th annual event in April of 2021,” Leenhouts said, adding that the Sun ‘n Fun staff is already in the planning stages.

Sun ‘n Fun is in the process of overhauling its website to provide a new digital experience for pilots, who are encouraged to check it out regularly for updates: https://flysnf.org
