The Flying Musicians Association (FMA) has selected its recipient for their 2026 Solo Scholarship, Cameron Milleman of Muncie, Indiana. The FMA is a 501(C) (3) nonprofit corporation for pilot musicians, spanning the globe, proficiency levels, and genres. Members share their passions to inspire, educate, encourage, and assist through performances, presentations, mentoring, networking, and scholarships.
FMA envisioned and instituted this scholarship program because it recognizes the parallel skills involved in flying and performing music and wants to promote both areas of growth in our inspired and dedicated future leaders.
Cameron Milleman, at the top of his junior year in Muncie, Indiana, is an award-winning pianist and trumpeter and has twice been selected for the Indiana Music Education Association’s honor band. He has received the Carl A. Spaatz Award in the Civil Air Patrol cadet program and plans to attend the USAF Academy or Purdue University in Lafeyette, Indiana to pursue Aeronautical Engineering and/or Professional Flight.
Cameron stated, “I’m so excited to start my flight training this summer thanks to the Flying Musicians Association! Without their Solo Award program providing flight training to young and bright musicians, I wouldn’t be able to reach for my dream of becoming a private pilot before I graduate high school.”
You can follow Cameron’s journey towards solo and support his development and pursuit of a future in aviation. Visit FMAsolo.org to read more about Cameron and congratulate him — and add your words of encouragement, support, and wisdom.
