The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has announced a leadership transition as President and CEO Ed Bolen takes a leave of absence to focus on cancer treatment.
The NBAA Board of Directors has named Dan Hubbard interim chief operating officer and designated him as the association’s day-to-day lead during Bolen’s absence. Hubbard will oversee NBAA’s operations, including activities surrounding the upcoming Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE).
Hubbard has been with NBAA for 22 years and has served as senior vice president for communications since 2008. During his tenure, he has been involved in the association’s communications, external affairs, partnerships and advocacy efforts in the United States and internationally, including NBAA events on four continents.
Hubbard said NBAA remains focused on serving its members and advancing the industry’s priorities during the transition.
“NBAA is well-positioned to continue operating seamlessly and serving members strategically and effectively, and I am honored to step in and lead our dedicated team,” Hubbard said. “I have every confidence in our ability to execute an outstanding NBAA-BACE next month, while continuing to advance the industry’s policy agenda and supporting the operational and other needs of our members.”
Williams Named Senior Vice President Of Operations
NBAA also announced that Heidi Williams will become senior vice president of operations, filling the position previously held by Douglas Carr, who retired in July.
Williams currently serves as NBAA’s vice president of air traffic services and infrastructure. In that role, she works with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other government and industry stakeholders on aviation policy and coordination.
Her responsibilities also include NBAA’s emerging technology initiatives and efforts involving airspace and air traffic modernization.
The leadership changes come as NBAA prepares for its annual convention, which will bring much of the business aviation industry together in Las Vegas.
NBAA-BACE is scheduled for Oct. 20-22 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and Henderson Executive Airport (HND). The event will feature business aviation aircraft, products, services and technologies, along with industry leaders addressing issues affecting the future of business aviation.
