Iowa Aviation Conference To Be Held In West Des Moines

WEST DES MOINES, IOWA – The annual Iowa Aviation Conference will be held April 20-21, 2011 at the Sheraton West Des Moines Hotel & Conference Center (I-35 & University Avenue). The conference provides the opportunity for Iowa airport managers, fixed base operators, the airport service industry, and state and federal officials to network, learn and obtain information.

Conference sessions will include the following topics affecting airports and aviation in Iowa: FAA airport improvement program and reauthorization; Iowa aviation system plan; airport GIS; practical solutions for airport operators; the Next Generation air traffic control system; a look at tomorrow’s air transportation system; strategic planning for general aviation airports; skydiving in Iowa; and training requirements for the safe operation of underground fuel systems according to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

A Pilot Safety Seminar will be held in conjunction with the conference beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20. There is no charge to attend this seminar.
