Coming Up! Missouri State Aviation Day

JEFFERSON CITY, MO. – The Missouri Pilots Association (MPA) has taken the lead in putting together “Missouri State Aviation Day,” on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, in Missouri’s State Capitol in Jefferson City, but the event is a collaborative effort among many individuals and state associations. Sponsors include MPA, the Missouri Airport Managers Association (MAMA), Missouri State Aviation Council (MSAC), airports, aviation businesses, aviation business associations, and aviation consultants. The Aircraft Owners & Pilots Association (AOPA) and the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) are also sponsors.
The event will begin in the morning when participants arrive at the State Capitol and meet with their state legislators. The focus of the event will be the extension of the expiration date for the State Aviation Trust Fund. No formal presentations are planned. A luncheon will be served in the capitol for all state representatives and senators and event participates. This makes for a great opportunity for state legislators to meet and discuss aviation issues with participants in an informal setting. The luncheon is expected to draw 400 people. After lunch, participants are urged to visit with their state legislators.
Shuttle service is expected to be provided from Jefferson City Memorial Airport for those participants who fly in for the event. For additional information contact the Missouri Pilots Association at 573-348-5614.
