No Second Term For LaHood

WASHINGTON, D.C. (January 29, 2013) – U.S. Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood of Illinois announced today that he will not serve a second term. He cited the passing of the FAA Reauthorization Act, and work on the Next Generation Air Traffic Control System as two of his biggest accomplishments, as well as passage of the “Moving Ahead For Progress In The 21st Century Act” to help states build and repair their roads, bridges and transit systems. LaHood will remain secretary until his successor is named.
