William H. Piper Passes Away

CONROE, TEXAS – William (Bill) H. Piper, 66, of Conroe, Texas and Tallin, Estonia, passed away August 29, 2013 at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College, Pa.

Piper was born on May 30, 1947 in Lock Haven, Pa. and was the youngest son of the late Thomas F. Piper, Sr. and the late Margaret Booth Piper. He was a grandson of William T. Piper, Sr., founder of Piper Aircraft in Lock Haven, Pa.

In 1967, Piper moved to Angola, Indiana to attend Tri State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering with honors. After graduating from college, he joined the United States Army where he became a captain and commanded the U.S. Army Detachment NATO Liaison Team in Kellinghusen, Germany.

After returning to the United States, Piper had various business ventures and graduated from Franklin Pierce Law School in 2000 and subsequently opened his own practice in Conroe, Texas.

Piper is survived by his four children; his brother, John R. Piper; a nephew and niece; along with an aunt and several cousins. In addition to his parents, Piper was preceded in death by his infant daughter Maria J. Piper and his brother Thomas F. Piper, Jr.

Services were held at the Piper Aviation Museum in Lock Haven, Pa.
