Discover Aviation Days!

June 4th and 5th 2016

WHAT:

Come to the Anoka County Airport in Blaine, and celebrate the history and future of flight at Discover Aviation Days.  Visitors will enjoy numerous aviation exhibits, aircraft & helicopter rides, food booths and more!  On display will be general and corporate aircraft, experimental and home-built, WWII fighters, trainers and bombers along with vintage and modern military aircraft.  Those interested in a career in aviation, can stop by the numerous aviation education booths, see flying demonstrations, and kid’s activities.  A Pancake Breakfast & Lunch to be served both days. On display will be military past and present. Met our veterans from WWII, Korea and Vietnam inside our large education tent.  See our classic cars on display and parade at 11:30 each day.   An evening Hangar Dance with a 15 piece 1940’s swing band held Saturday night. Doors open at 6:30pm with music from 8pm to 12 Midnight.

Admission to Discover Aviation Days is FREE. However, we are asking for a parking donation to aid in covering event costs.

Take to the air!

Enjoy a flight in a modern helicopter – or fixed wing aircraft.

Go flying in a 1920’s open cockpit bi-plane.

Book a ride in a WWII B-25 Bomber.

Anoka County Airport – Janes Field, in Blaine Minnesota.

WHEN:

7 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, June 4th & 5th, 2016.

  • Pancake Breakfast from 7am to 11:30am / Lunch – noon to 3:30 both days.
  • Aviation activities, fly-by’s and air rides throughout the day.
  • The hangar dance is from 8 p.m. to midnight on Saturday June 4th.     Admission is $15 for adults, $8 for students, kids 12 and under are free.

The event is located at the Anoka County Airport (Janes Field) in Blaine.  Three miles north of 694, Just off of Highway 10-610 between 35W and Highway 65.  Exit on 85th and Airport Road (Exit 30) or Hwy 65 to Hwy 10-610 East and follow the event signs to parking.  It’s FREE admission to the day-time event but, a parking donation is requested to help cover event costs.  The pancake breakfast, hangar dance and air rides all require fees.
