Feb 7 – Brodhead, Wis. Groundhog Chili Skiplane Fly-In, 10 am – 2 pm www.eaa431.org.

Feb 7 – Winter Flight Fest brings hands-on activities and the popular skiplane fly-in to the EAA Aviation Museum from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The all-ages event features activities across the museum, with the skiplane fly-in taking place at the Pioneer Airport facility right behind the museum. All museum activities are included with regular museum admission, while the skiplane fly-in is free to attend. Complimentary chili will also be served at Pioneer Airport. Shuttles will operate from the museum to Pioneer Airport throughout the day. The Skiplane fly-in is weather permitting, with pilots being notified in advance of a cancellation. Skiplane pilots are asked to register their aircraft online on the EAA Website.

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh dates confirmed through 2029 

EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wisconsin – Dates for the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh fly-in convention at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, have been confirmed through 2029. Upcoming event dates are as follows:

  • 2026: July 20-26
  • 2027: July 26-August 1
  • 2028: July 24-30
  • 2029: July 23-29

EAA Aviation Museum’s 2026 Speaker Series schedule includes:

  • January 15 – “The Beech Starship” with Tom Carr: A behind-the-scenes look at the Beech Starship test program.
  • February 19 – “Jolly Green Giant: Rescue in Vietnam” with John Duffy: A firsthand account of what it was like to serve as a rescue pilot during the Vietnam War.
  • March 19 – “The Art of Flying Historic Aircraft” with Doug Rozendaal
  • April 16 – “The B-1 Program” featuring a panel of B-1 experts led by Kenneth Katz
  • May 21 – “Recue Me!” featuring a panel of firefighting pilots
  • June 18 – “Black Sheep Squadron” with Stephen Chapis: A presentation on the show Baa Baa Black Sheep which is based on the World War II Black Sheep Squadron. The show celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2026.
  • August 20 – “Buster: The Recreation of a Racing Icon” with Jim Cunningham, Mike Butler, and Jim Casper: Hear from part of the team responsible for the building a replica of Steve Wittman’s legendary aircraft that had one of the most successful careers in air racing history.
  • September 11 – “EAA Remembers 9/11: 25th Anniversary” (Speaker: TBD): A special evening honoring those who risked their lives on September 11, 2001.

All Speaker Series events take place at 7 p.m. on their scheduled date are free to attend for EAA members and $5 for nonmembers. More information on each presentation is available at EAA.org/SpeakerSeries.
