WASHINGTON, DC – On December 11, 2024, General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) President and CEO, Pete Bunce, testified before the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Aviation in a hearing entitled: “FAA Reauthorization Act of 2024: Stakeholder Perspectives on Implementation.”

In his testimony, Bunce applauded Congress for passing the 2024 FAA Reauthorization Act into law, which included key priorities that GAMA advocated for including policies that advance safety, jobs, innovation and global competitiveness in aviation. Bunce conveyed that the challenge now is to ensure that FAA prioritizes the timely implementation of the law, and that Congress, the Administration and the incoming Administration stay the course and meet the funding and other requirements of the law.

During the hearing, Bunce highlighted fostering advancement, innovation, competitiveness and safety; the FAA’s promulgation of rulemaking and potential polices that could inhibit progress; supply chain challenges; optimizing the FAA’s facilities and equipment; strengthening the FAA workforce through industry knowledge sharing and skills enhancement; implementing mobile delivery of air traffic clearances; advancements in aviation noise reduction and new entrants; developments in hydrogen propulsion; and enhancing the FAA Aviation Workforce Development Program.

Bunce also recognized Congressman Garret Graves for his public service.
