Posted on November 24, 2024December 13, 2024 by mwflyer

Former NASA astronaut and Apollo 8 commander, Frank Borman, EAA Lifetime 300174, passed away on November 7, 2023, at the age of 95. In 1968, Borman commanded the first human spaceflight to reach the moon, leading the three-person crew of himself, Jim Lovell, and Bill Anders. A longtime supporter of EAA, Borman attended AirVenture numerous times and spoke at multiple EAA functions, most recently in 2018 at the Wright Brothers Memorial Banquet. In addition, he donated a large collection of his personal aviation and NASA memorabilia to EAA, which is displayed in the EAA Aviation Museum.
