Dear MAHOF Banquet Guests,
As promised, the MN Aviation Hall of Fame Board met in mid-January to re-assess the status of the Covid 19 virus, the community administration of the vaccine and examine the possibility of gathering 400+ people in one room in April 2021. We are reaching out to let you know that we have decided to postpone the Class of 2020 Induction Banquet for the third time. We feel that the status of the Covid 19 virus is still uncertain and the virus rollout is going slower than predicted. The new date is Saturday, OCTOBER 30, 2021 and will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Bloomington – Minneapolis South at 7800 Normandale Boulevard, Minneapolis, MN 55439.
Once again, this decision was not made lightly, but the health and safety of our banquet guests, MAHOF volunteers and hotel staff is our top priority and we want to err on the side of caution. Our mission at the MN Aviation Hall of Fame is to honor our inductees and we are determined to give them the recognition they deserve. We know you’ll agree with us that postponing again is the right thing to do. Fingers crossed that the third time is the charm! We are very hopeful that the banquet will happen in October!
Going forward, all current banquet reservations will be honored for the banquet on October 30, 2021. We realize that some of you may have other plans for that date or not be able to attend. If you hold a banquet reservation and you know you won’t be able to attend the banquet on October 30, 2021 then it’s important that you let me know by email, regular mail or a phone call. Also, tickets are still available, so be sure to notify any friends or family that might be interested in attending.
Refunds will be given for those guests who request it and mailed out in the weeks ahead. If you cannot attend and are in a position to make a donation of the price of your ticket ($60), we also encourage you to do so. All donations are gratefully accepted and benefit our scholarship and other programs!
Please take a minute and respond to this email so we know you are updated with the new date. Our banquet committee will be reaching out to each and every one of you at the contact information you provided to ensure you are kept updated and to determine your intentions for attending October 30, 2021. We will continue to work diligently to ensure all details are finalized and thank you for your patience and for your continued support as we all navigate this unprecedented situation.
