CARBONDALE, ILL – United Airlines participated in the Southern Illinois University Career Day April 22, 2017, in Carbondale, Illinois. Over 100 high school students from the Chicago area, plus 25 United Airlines volunteers (mostly SIU graduates) participated. The SIU Career Day began in 1994, but was temporarily discontinued following the events of 9-11, then resumed in 2007. United Airlines paid for the flight and Transportation Security Administration screening costs. The students paid nothing and valued greatly.
