DULUTH, MINN. – Cirrus Aircraft CEO Dale Klapmeier was awarded the German magazine Fliegermagazin’s prestigious “Industry Leader of the Year Award For 2012” at AERO, Europe’s largest general aviation trade show, held in Friedrichshafen, Germany, April 18-21, 2012. The award recognizes Klapmeier’s accomplishments for Cirrus over the past year, including the sale of Cirrus to China Aviation Industry General Aircraft Co Ltd (CAIGA) that gives Cirrus a unique position to emerge in that market; the sale of the 5,000th aircraft; and a host of innovative features for 2012 including “Perspective Global Connect,” which is of particular interest to European pilots.
