Since 2007, the “Canada Fishing Fly-Out To Miminiska Lodge, Ontario” (CPS5), has attracted pilots from Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio, Minnesota and California, but this year we are excited to welcome a pilot and his two grown sons from Naples, Florida. Colin Halfwassen and his sons, Joel and Brent, will fly their 1982 A36 Bonanza on the trip to be held August 3 – 8, 2025. We will all arrive on Sunday, August 3, and depart on Friday, August 8.
Miminiska features a 2400 X 50 ft. grass airstrip (Rwy 9/27) and is located 196 nm north of Thunder Bay, Ontario, where most guests clear Canada Customs. Miminiska is located far enough to make the trip an adventure, but close enough for safety and convenience.
Any guest who arrives by 2:00 pm on August 3, may fish that afternoon at no additional charge!
And that’s not all we get free at Miminiska Lodge. The lodge has FREE WIFI internet and telephone service, a sauna, billiards, satellite television, and recreational watercraft (paddle boards, canoes, and kayaks). Guides are available, but the map provided by the lodge is excellent for boating and finding good fishing spots on the beautiful Albany River Watershed.
