Dear Dave:
We met at OSH. I am the retired pilot/EAA volunteer that helped you park your motorhome, and own the “Airport Courtesy Car” app. I believe I gave you my card, and you gave me your magazine. Just today, the app surpassed 11,000 pilots using it.
(Here’s how the app got started.)
In 2014, I flew my newly completed RV-9A with my son to Oshkosh. Before I left, I searched for car locations on my route from Arizona just in case. I found none. Upon my return, I sent out feelers to various forums and quickly had over 700 listings.
Airport Courtesy Cars started out as an app, but later I converted it to a website due to all the problems with apps. Some people really thought I could view their photos through the app! The website can be easily saved on the display on a phone where all the features can be utilized.
I just recently completed a major upgrade using “Word Press” that displays in a blog-like format. There are well over 2,000 cars listed nationwide, airport cafes (in case your car isn’t there), MOGAS locations, pictures and many pilot comments, some that can be quite entertaining. The site is kept up to date by pilots like you who email me additions and corrections and updates. The site also depends on donations to continue. I hope you find it useful!

EDITOR’S NOTE: Well, Glenn, I don’t own a motorhome, but I certainly may have met you at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, and I am happy to give you a plug in the magazine. Sounds like a worthy endeavor! Best wishes! Dave
