RUSHFORD, MINN. – Rushford Municipal Airport recently celebrated the installation of a new T-hangar to replace the one destroyed in a 2019 fire. The City of Rushford sponsored the project, which was engineered by Mead & Hunt. The expenses included engineering, construction administration, site work, and structure. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was performed on September 28, 2024, to commemorate this significant milestone in the community. Local community, and other partners gathered to celebrate the project’s successful completion and the opening of the new facility.
ST. CLOUD, MINN. – St. Cloud Regional Airport recently completed the construction of a new 10-unit T-hangar and associated taxi lanes to meet the high demand for hangar space. Fully funded through BIL/AIG grants spread over five federal fiscal years, the project had a total cost of $5,576,211.25, covering design, construction, and administrative fees. Additionally, the airport replaced its ARFF vehicle, tools, and communication equipment to enhance firefighting capabilities. Funded through the AIP program, the ARFF project totaled $981,791.00, providing the airport with upgraded tools and communication systems to ensure safety and efficiency. A special dedication ceremony took place on September 19, 2024, following the Airport Authority Board meeting.
SOUTH ST. PAUL, MINN. – Under the leadership of Airport Manager Andrew Wall, South St. Paul Airport completed a significant runway and taxiway reconstruction project. This three-year endeavor consisted of three government initiatives, including runway design and reconstruction, land acquisition to reroute the taxiway, and the taxiway reconstruction itself. A special celebration took place at the airport on September 20, 2024, to mark the successful completion of the project, reflecting years of effort and substantial investment into the airport’s infrastructure.
