There’s an old saying that if you don’t grow and change with the times, you won’t survive, and Midwest Flyer Magazine has gone through several changes over the past 46 years which have benefitted readers, advertisers, and the aviation community as a whole.
Beginning as a 12-page black and white magazine in 1978, we gradually added more pages, then two-color processing, and eventually four-color processing (real color). These improvements increased printing and postage costs, which had to be absorbed by you, our reader, in the amount you paid for a subscription, or passed on to advertisers. Fortunately, with the advent of the Internet, not only could we post back issues of the magazine on our website, but beginning in 2021, we began placing the current issue on our website as well, free of charge to our readers! Not only has this been a tremendous cost savings for subscribers and advertisers, but it made the magazine more accessible to more people online from any location in the world!
Beginning this fall, we are launching a new digital format which will be delivered to you via email called “Midwest Flyer Monthly.” Our new website will feature “on-demand/frequent” content to encourage you to visit us more often. And we will continue to provide you with links to other websites where you can obtain additional information on topics of interest to you. This new digital format will also be more “user friendly” for Smart Phone and Mobile users, which is very important nowadays.
Our daughter, Stacy Wilk, has taken the lead with this new digital format, as she has the graphic and web design background needed. Stacy has a Certificate in Web Design, Associate Degree in Graphic Design, Bachelor’s Degree in Business, and a Master’s Degree in Marketing and Management. She also has been flying with us since she was 6 weeks old and is very familiar with the aviation community.
Your current subscription will carry over to the new format, so you do not need to do anything different to receive “Midwest Flyer Monthly.” We will continue to notify you each month via email when a new issue has been posted.
Please tell your friends to subscribe FREE OF CHARGE here: https://midwestflyer.com/
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation, and be sure to support the businesses and organizations that advertise in“Midwest Flyer Monthly.”
